Welcome to This Week in Preschool- I'm your host, Muriah. I have seven years of experience in early childhood education and I am interested in a wide range of topics- currently, I am passionate about math education in early childhood and I have an ongoing interest in inclusion, as well. I hope to share some of the things I learn as I go, as well as classroom activities I have found useful and news impacting the early childhood field. I believe that early childhood educators have a far greater impact than our society currently realizes, and the only way that our field will gain the respect it deserves is by a continual effort to inform and raise awareness- I hope this blog will contribute at least a little to that.
About me, personally: I am located in Colorado, and work as the assistant director of a small center. My education background is in Montessori, but I have grown to be open to ideas and inspiration from other philosophies and curricula. I am on a mission to increase my knowledge- I recently applied to a graduate program in Early Childhood STEM, so more on that soon! I enjoy making classroom materials for the teachers at my center, so expect to see some of that, as well!
